Making LGBTQ Parenthood Possible During Pride Month

We celebrate Pride Month by supporting LGBTQ family building

We celebrate Pride Month by supporting LGBTQ family buildingHappy Pride Month! Our Newport Beach fertility center team believes that love is love and everyone deserves the chance to have a family. At the Southern California Center for Reproductive Medicine, we offer a variety of LGBTQ family building options so that all our patients can have the families they desire.

Exploring the options that help lesbian patients become mothers

Whether you are single or part of a lesbian couple, we can help you start or expand your family. One routine option is donor sperm IUI. You can use a known donor or select an anonymous donor from a sperm bank. After selecting your donor, you’ll come to our clinic so that your doctor can place the sperm into your uterus.

We also offer IVF with donor sperm as well as reciprocal IVF. With reciprocal IVF, one partner donates the eggs and the other carries the pregnancy. This option allows both women to participate in the LGBTQ family building process. Talk about a happy Pride Month!

Options for gay patients are also important to discuss during Pride Month

As a gay man, donor egg IVF with gestational surrogacy is the best fertility treatment option. To begin the process, you will need to find an egg donor. We then combine the egg with sperm from you or your partner to create the embryos. Your doctor will transfer a healthy embryo into the uterus of the gestational surrogate. She will then carry the pregnancy.

We also offer LGBTQ family building options for transgender patients

Before beginning any fertility treatment as a transgender patient, our doctors will complete a full fertility evaluation and review your results. If you have not yet begun the transition process, our Newport Beach fertility center experts can help you explore fertility preservation options. These options include sperm freezing, egg freezing and embryo freezing.

If you have already transitioned or started to transition, you have several treatment options. Some patients can conceive naturally after temporarily stopping their hormone therapy. In other cases, treatments like IUI or IVF with third party reproduction options make parenthood possible.

At our Newport Beach fertility center, we believe families come in all shapes and sizes. As we honor our LGBTQ community during Pride Month, we want you to know that we will always provide compassionate care and stellar medical treatment.
