Fertility preservation support for active-duty military

Protecting your path to parenthood, even on active duty.

A new Department of Defense program reimburses eligible active-duty service members for fertility preservation, starting September 14, 2026. You can choose SCCRM for this benefit. TRICARE authorization isn't part of the requirement. 

  • Who qualifies: those with deployment or hazardous-duty orders, those expecting such orders within 120 days, and those facing 180 or more days of separation from a spouse, domestic partner, or dating partner 

  • What is covered: retrieval, testing, cryopreservation, shipping, and storage 

  • Reimbursement caps: $500 per year for sperm, $10,000 per year for eggs
