Affording fertility care
Understanding Fertility Treatment Costs
At SCCRM, we prioritize providing fair and transparent fertility treatment costs. Our mission is to ensure that patients only pay for necessary services and receive exactly what they expect. We aim to maximize success while maintaining reasonable and straightforward costs.
Understanding Fertility Insurance Coverage
SCCRM proudly accepts a wide range of insurance, HMOs, and fertility benefits programs. With the introduction of the California state insurance mandate for fertility, most small and large-group health insurance plans in California will be required to cover testing and IVF treatment. Individual plans may still vary. We recommend confirming your insurance benefits with your Human Resources Department and insurance company before your initial visit, as coverage approval is at their discretion.
After verifying your insurance benefits, we provide detailed estimate fertility costs so you know exactly what to expect. We clarify how your deductible applies and explain which services are covered in-network, out-of-network, or not at all.

Fertility Costs without Insurance
For those without insurance coverage, we offer a competitive Global Fee for cash-pay patients, which includes most aspects of your IVF cycle—from ultrasounds and office visits to blood work, egg retrieval, lab services, and embryo transfer.
SCCRM offers discounts for patients without insurance coverage who are military veterans, first responders, law enforcement or teachers.

Tips for Developing Your Financial Plan
Check your insurance
Understand diagnostic tests and potential treatments for your condition. Review your health insurance policy to know what is and isn’t covered.
Basic treatments like ovulation support or IUI generally cost a few hundred to a few thousand dollars per cycle. Advanced treatments like IVF can cost several thousand dollars per cycle. In some cases, a minor procedure or surgery might solve the issue and may be covered by insurance.
Set goals, expectations, and budgets
Establish realistic goals and budget for your fertility treatment journey, aiming for a 1–2-year timeframe. Celebrate success along the way! Understand the fertility treatments costs, benefits, and value of each treatment for your unique situation.
For younger women (<35), starting with simpler treatments like ovulation induction with medications such as clomid or letrozole offer a reasonable success rate (5-10% per cycle), low risk of multiples, and manageable costs if deemed reasonable by your fertility provider. If unsuccessful after a few cycles, IUI or IVF may be a better option due to its higher success rate (15-20% for IUI and >50% for IVF). For older women (>40), starting with more advanced treatments like IVF may be more effective.
Be flexible
Since predicting which treatment will lead to pregnancy is not possible, make wise choices by avoiding low-yield therapies that may cost more time and money. Most pregnancies occur within the first three cycles of treatment, with chances decreasing afterward. Monitoring with ultrasounds and blood tests are essential to track effectiveness and guide treatment. You may decide to switch strategies sooner if needed, investing in higher-yield treatment with a better chance of success.
