National Infertility Awareness Week 2020 – You’re not alone

National Infertility Awareness Week 2020 – You’re not aloneIf you and your partner have been struggling to get pregnant, you may feel anguish and stress about your ability to start a family. No matter what you’re going through, it’s important to remember you’re not alone. You can reach out to your friends and loved ones for support. You can also look online to connect with others going through a similar situation. With National Infertility Awareness Week 2020 fast approaching, our Southern California fertility doctor has created a list of ways you can raise infertility awareness.

It’s National Infertility Awareness Week 2020

April 19-25 marks National Infertility Awareness Week 2020. In previous years, you could join an awareness walk in your area or even host one. However, because of the current situation with COVID-19 across the U.S. and the need for social distancing, we encourage you to join others online.

How you can raise awareness about infertility

A great way to raise awareness is to share your infertility story online on your social media channels and on your blog (if you have one). Be sure to provide educational information and links to reputable sources online too. Sometimes, by sharing your fertility struggles, you will feel a weight be lifted from your shoulders. You may even be able to connect with others who have similar stories to share and form a powerful, lasting bond.

To be part of the movement that will empower you and inspire change, you could also contact your representatives in Congress. You can advocate for infertility education, insurance coverage and treatment, start a virtual support group, or set up a fundraiser online. There are so many ways to have your voice heard and raise awareness for all those who are trying to start a family.
