For over 20 years we have provided fertility treatments to people from all over the world. Â Specifically, we have successfully treated patients from Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and South America as well as Canada and Mexico. We realize that international travel for fertility treatment can add additional complexity, so we have developed a special program for patients travelling from foreign countries to undergo treatment at our center. The types of treatments most often undertaken are those which may not be easily obtained in other countries. In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Egg donation, gestational surrogacy and pre-implantation genetic screening (including gender selection) are among the most common choices for international patients travelling to America.
The process begins with a phone consultation with the doctor which is often arranged by email at a time convenient to both. Translation services are available if necessary for this consultation. It is helpful for us to obtain in advance, any medical records which may pertain to the treatment that is desired. This consultation will allow us to identify the type of treatment needed and to formulate a plan for the pre-treatment testing and timing of the treatment cycle. Whenever possible, some of the initial testing may be performed in the home country prior to starting treatment. Often the initial steps of treatment may be coordinated with medical professionals in the home country as well.
For most treatments, it is advisable to arrive in Southern California about one week prior to egg retrieval and stay until at least one week after embryo transfer for those not using a gestational surrogate. Our concierge service is available to help coordinate travel, lodging, local transportation, dining, recreation and any amenity services that can make the stay here more comfortable and convenient. Our goal is to make the treatment process as easy as possible for those who travel a great distance to take advantage of our special services. We believe that this is important for insuring that the outcome of treatment is as successful as that performed on our patients who live here.
